The Primary School has an excellent leadership team that work together to provide ‘hands-on’ support for both students and teachers in learning and teaching on a day-to-day basis.
Jacqui Ellison is our PYP Coordinator and gives both direction and support for curriculum in Primary. Susan Phipps is the Coordinator for the Preps to Year 2 section and her counterpart, Rebecca Matthews, supports our Year 3 to 6 students and staff. Julia Walker leads the Teaching and Learning Support unit, which supports both students and teachers in developing targeted learning programs at PVCC. We are truly blessed to have such a dynamic and committed team of professionals to lead the Primary School.
Throughout the word of God, there are numerous examples of leadership. The Bible gives us examples of both Godly and non-Godly leadership and the consequences such leadership brings.
Proverbs 11:14 tells us “Without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many advisers.” While Romans 12:8 says “If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.”
As a College, we therefore have a responsibility to teach our students godly leadership. The Senate meets every few weeks to discuss issues raised by students, prioritise needs and work with the college leadership to represent our student body.
