BEN RAMSAY from year 10. Ben was the winner of the ‘Most Outstanding Aviva Ballkid’ at the 2008 Australian Open. Ben has been a ball kid for a number of years at the aussie open and this year he was lucky and good enough to win the tournament. Ben took home a trophy, certificate and a cheque worth a whopping $1000!

Ben was a part of a team of more than 300 ballkids carefully selected from
around Australia and Asia Pacific region. Aviva Ballkids are part of an elite team – The Australian Open is renowned in the tennis world for the high standards and professionalism they display on court. Australian Open 2008 was a challenging experience for the Aviva Ballkids.

During the marathon match between two of the world’s greatest players –
Lleyton Hewitt and Marcos Baghdatis – the Aviva Ballkids showed their
endurance by putting professional performance through to the end of play at 4.30am. The Most Outstanding Aviva Ballkid award is presented to the Ballboy and Ballgirl who have demonstrated exceptional conduct, performance and attitude towards the important role they play at the Australian Open. Ben, who has worked as an Aviva Ballkid for three years, said that winning this award is a highlight of his Australian Open experience.
