Where Community Matters

Years 7 & 8

Years seven and eight involve many changes in student’s schooling.  Although there is continuity in the curriculum between the primary and secondary levels, there are major changes in the breadth of curriculum and the ways in which classes operate.  A home-group pastoral system gives students a sense of cohesiveness and identity within the College as students move between subject areas with different teachers.

New students may transfer into the College at this level.  Students often have a new maturity and independence, and seek new experiences as they begin to appreciate the diversity offered in secondary education.  Our school intends to provide a rich and stimulating set of experiences for students as they move towards the VCE and prepare for life beyond schooling.

The curriculum at Plenty Valley Christian College is designed to promote an interest in learning and challenge for students so that they retain or rediscover the satisfaction that learning engenders.  In addition, students at this level begin to analyse the value of education, particularly the distinctive elements that underlie a Christian worldview.

We also commit to complementing these studies with many extra-curricula activities such as; excursions, camps, musical production and public speaking to name a few. We trust that we provide a well rounded and engaging education for your child within this dedicated, Christian community.

It is our pleasure to continue to develop these programs for the benefit of your child’s future and to be as helpful as possible in all aspects of their schooling.  Please contact us if you have any questions or if you would like to look over the College site.
